It's a stroll down memory lane, as I was about 7 when the series premiered and we were regular watchers (i can't believe it was telecast at 7:30, the lead-in for Get Smart [a personal favourite] while Petticoat Junction was a 9:30 show on CBS!) during most of the broadcast. I love your observations and wit -- I think having not seen these shows for 40 years has me really seeing it with fresh eyes. Right from the theme song to the various quirks and quick comments Reed and Malloy share during their shifts, it just seems like they pack a lot into 1/2 hour. I have to disagree with your view on Mrs. Bussey -- it may be my 58 year old hormones talking (along with being in isolation this long!) but I thought as usual, someone was given a 40 second dialogue and she knocked it out of park! Maybe I was digging that she was kinda hot, too. (check out her website (https://dorothyrice.net/painter/new-york/); she's quite a painter. Anyways, thats another amazing element of this series, how so many familiar faces pop up for a 1-2 minute part. That and the intricate way the show dealt with the LA policeman's realities, not long after the Watts riots. Fascinating! I plan to read along as I graze through the series!<br />dandy danhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18063678192378244547noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3432892204045467262.post-41169038943018189792016-01-07T21:29:46.999-05:002016-01-07T21:29:46.999-05:00The stalker gold mustang is in this episode. It is partially seen towards the left when the chain link fence is off to the right, behind Pete.TD 10743noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3432892204045467262.post-41453011494864732652014-09-26T21:39:10.591-04:002014-09-26T21:39:10.591-04:00Agreed! The Universal back-lot has limitations, but I love the lighting in the night scenes. Also, one of the best episode titles! I find the dicks quote can be quite useful in describing my own work situation at times :) Okay Sevenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12063875018895304778noreply@blogger.com
